SALONA AMPHITHEATRE
A landmark of ancient Salona.
Built on the western edge of the ancient city, Salona’s amphitheatre once hosted public spectacles for thousands of spectators and remains one of the most recognisable monuments of the archaeological site.
Its surviving walls and the outline of the arena still reveal the impressive scale of Roman Salona, while its location offers a striking connection between the ancient city and the landscape of modern Split and Solin.
